Miron Andres

Miron Andres (born 1989 in the Czech Republic) studied the Viola da Gamba first with Brigitte Gasser in Basel (CH), after he continued his studies at the Conservatory Vienna University with Pierre Pitzl. In 2013 he completed his Bachelor at the renowned Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Basel, CH) with Randall Cook, focusing on medieval and renaissance repertoire. In 2017 he got his Master's degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, studying Viola da Gamba with Mieneke van der Velden and Violone with Maggie Urquhart, as well as focusing on Contemporary Music. Additionally, he had been taking lessons with various private instructors, including Martin Bauer, Nima Ben David, Tore Eketorp, Joshua Cheatham and Sarah Cunningham.

He has been performing with different ensembles (Sestina Consort, Baroque Ensemble Hesperis, Musica Temprana, e.g.) and as soloist in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Finland, England and Israel. Together with the Hamelin Consort he won the 2nd price at the “Förderpreis Alte Musik” in Saarbrücken in March 2012. Invitations to the Fringe Concerten of the “MAfestival” in Brugge and the “Festival Oude Muziek” since 2012.
