João Rodrigues
Chef João Rodrigues graduated in Culinary and Pastry in the EHTE- Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Lisboa (Lisbon Hotel and Tourism School) with 21 years. He started is career with an internship’s in Sheraton Hotel and Ritz Hotel and worked at Lisboa Plaza Hotel. After winning the Best Cocking Student title, he started his degree in Culinary Arts in the Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo de Estoril (Superior School of Hospitality and Tourism of Estoril).
His carreer past by working in Bica do Sapato Restaurant for 3 years with Chef Fausto Airoldi. He also worked alongside Chef Stephane Hestin and Chef Sebastien Grospelier (2 Michelin Stars) at Varanda Restaurant and at the Ritz Hotel Four Seasons. In 2007, he won the “Chefe Cozinheiro do Ano” (Chef of the Year) contest.
Since 2009, he embraced Feitoria and in 2013 as Executive Chef has won his first Michelin Star, which had been renewing until the present day. In 2015 he was rewarded with the award of Chef de L’Avenir (Chef of the future) by International Gastronomy Academy and in 2016 won the Golden Fork and been awarded the Chef of the year by Boa Cama Boa Mesa and by the Wine Magazine. In the Top 10 Portugal Best Chefs of the renowned Blog Mesa Marcada in 2016 Chef Joao Rodrigues went from 6th to the 4th position.
