Eduardo Marçal Grilo

Eduardo Marçal Grilo is Presidente of the General Council of University of Aveiro. He was member of the Board of Trustees of Gulbenkian Foundation, and for several institutions at the international level namely member at the International Commission of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation in US, Senior Advisor to the Rector of United Nations University, President to iTEC High Level Group, member of the Magna Charta Universitatum and member of the EEU (Empower European Universities) based in Maastricht, Consultant for the World Bank in the area of Education (1981-1991) and member of the Board of the United Nations University (2004-2011).

He holds a Master’s Degree from the Imperial College of Science and Technology- University of London and a PhD. from the I.S.T. (University of Lisbon) and was Chairman of the National Council for Education (1992-1995) and Minister of Education of Portugal between 1995 and 1999.
