Mateus DOC IV

The seminar for the fourth edition of the Mateus DOC program took place between 9 and 11 November at Casa de Mateus. After a two-step selection process that began with a call for submissions of articles to be presented, Mateus DOC met in Mateus a group of researchers, doctoral candidates and post-docs from various disciplines and areas of knowledge:

Ana Fouto (Law), Anabela de Oliveira (Literature), Antoni Jesus Aguiló (Philosophy), David Castaño (History), Guilherme Marques-Pedro (Political Teory), João Cabeleira (Architecture), João Neves (Biochemistry), Marina Rocha (Literature) and Pedro Magalhães (Political Science).

This group participated in the debates around the theme "Representation", discussing together and with other special guests several dimensions and approaches of the concept. Participated in this seminar:

Manuel Aires Mateus, Dava Newman, Fernando Mora Ramos, Guillermo Trotti, Manuela Martins, Pedro Bacelar, António M. Cunha, Jorge Vasconcelos, Gonçalo Almeida Ribeiro, Mathieu Richard, and Teresa Albuquerque.

The discussions were structured around the following themes elaborated from the selected proposals:

During the three days of the event, the discussions took place in an informal atmosphere, allowing the researchers present to re-equate and / or defend their proposals as a way of preparation for the writing of the final article.

The final articles were published in the fourth edition of the Mateus DOC books, reflecting the diversity of views and approaches that underlay the very rich debate in Mateus.
